West Shinjuku Lofts

A sense of space and natural light were essential ingredients to creating a loft-like atmosphere.

In a city where natural light and space are highly sought after, FF&P designed the West Shinjuku Lofts to embrace these features.
Consisting of three separate six-story apartment buildings, the lofts include floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed stairs, and mezzanines with views of the city.
Varying in shape and size, exposed concrete, colored aluminum panels, and colored slate form the foundation of the lofts. Texture, color, and light-colored wood floors were introduced to add richness to an otherwise grey environment. An abundance of glass allow natural light to permeate each space and high ceilings and split-levels contribute to a sensation of openness.
In a city which generally makes no use of the upper portion of buildings, we incorporated a roof scape which provides exceptional apartments for its inhabitants as well as a visual delight for the passerby and inhabitants of surrounding residences.
